If you own a convenience store or a little shop then a fountain machine is a must have for profits. There is really only one way to make soda pop and that's by using one of the many types of soda fountain machines. There are several types of fountain machines on the market today such as Cornelius and Servend. The quality of these two manufactures are petty close so when choosing one no need to dig into the company history. Both manufactures have been around for some time and have a solid name in the soda fountain industry. These two machines are the leader in fountain machines so expect to pay a premium for one of these units. Pepsi's choice of manufactures is Cornelius and Cokes is Servend...if these two companies use these manufacture you should rest assure that they are a good choice for you. Installation might require some additional items such as a inline water booster or reinforcing you counters.

Having a fountain machine in you location will yield some great margin. Both of the large soda companies Coke and Pepsi sell BIB's these are basically syrup in a box. These boxes hook directly to your machine and that's where the magic happens. The syrup is mixes with carbonated soda and that result is what is in sodas today. The great thing is that the box of syrup is relatively cheap right around $75 a box (ball park figure). That would translate to pennies per ounce poured leaving you some good margin. Of course you have to factor in cups, lids and straws, but overall you could double your money on each fountain drink sold. This is why refills are such a great way to drive traffic to your store because your giving your customers a reason to come by and with them proving the cup you can afford to reduce the price of the cup. Hopefully they will pick up some other high margin items such as candy bars and gum. Greeting card racks are another great source of profits that you might want to think about!

If you are not in the market to purchase a fountain machine for your store then you might want to give on of the local soda companies a shot.  The big decision is which one should you go with.  Well I'm here to say that Pepsi is typically known for there world class service and I would recommend them hands down vs Coke.  Plus there brand lineup is far superior with brands like Mountain Dew and Wild Cherry Pepsi!  There are two options you will be forced with when choosing a soda company. One is depending on how big your store is and how much traffic you might have you may qualify for a free fountain machine that the company will loan to you. On the other hand if your not going to be doing a lot of volume the company might want you to lease the machine for a small fee.  But the amount of profits that these things will put in your bank is well worth the lease cost.
